Hummingbird of Nilopolis

Beija-Flor chose as its theme Market Bembé, Afro-Brazilian religious festival held since 1889 in Santo Amaro, Bahia, to celebrate the Abolition of Slavery. Considered the largest street candomblé in the world, Bembé was declared an intangible cultural heritage of Bahia. The school promises a parade that exalts the resistance and faith of the black Brazilian people.

Tuiuti paradise

Tuiuti Paradise will present the plot “Lonã Ifa Lukumi”, which will address an Afro-Cuban religious aspect in the process of being rediscovered in Brazil. The school aims to highlight the cultural connections between Brazil and Cuba, emphasizing the influence of African-based religions.

Estácio de Sá

Estácio de Sá was the first school to release its theme for 2026: “Tata Tancredo – The Black Pope in the Estácio Yard”. The theme pays homage to an important Afro-Brazilian religious leader, highlighting his contribution to the country's culture and spirituality.
