The Sambodromo opens its doors at 17.00. There is a little opening ceremony at 20.00.
An average person truly enjoys and generally watches 3-5 samba schools. Thus, to arrive only around 22.00-23.00 could be a good idea, considering that that’s when the atmosphere starts to peak.
The two nights are similar in terms of set-up, the parading schools being different. 6 of the best 12 samba schools march on both Sunday and Monday. Buy your tickets for the night which best fits into your schedule.
